Hello! My name is Mrs. De Ruiter and I’m so happy to be the Reading Specialist at Sunset Ridge this year! This will begin my 13th year of teaching. I taught in CA for 3 years, 4 years in Peoria, I taught music from home for 7 years while I was home with my kids. This is my 1st year at Sunset Ridge and I already love it! I am an AZ native, grew up in Tucson and went to NAU. My masters is in early childhood education. I’ve been married for 27 years and have 4 kids, a 20 year old daughter, and three boys ages 19, 16, and 13. I also have a mini dachshund! I love spending time with my family, reading, traveling, shopping and eating out! Mexican is my favorite. I love coffee! I am gluten free! I Love flowers and plants and enjoy taking care of my yard. I love to read and swim. I like to decorate my house, especially around the holidays. Pink is my favorite color. Music and singing are my passion!
