About SCORE

The SCORE (Structured Classroom of Rigor and Excellence) Preschool Program is a specialized preschool classroom designed to support young children with autism. Our program provides individualized instruction in a structured, supportive environment where each child is encouraged to grow in independence, communication, social skills, play, and early academic development. Using evidence-based practices including: the STAR Autism Program, TEACCH Structured Teaching, Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), Discrete Trial Training (DTT), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) we create meaningful learning experiences that meet each child where they are and help them reach their fullest potential.  

Meet the Teacher

Ms. Cortnie

Hello and welcome. I'm so happy you're here.

I’m Ms. Cortnie, and I’m thrilled to begin my 13th year in education, my 4th year teaching developmental preschool, and my 1st year teaching in the SCORE program. Teaching young learners is truly my passion, and I feel incredibly lucky to spend each day helping children learn, grow, and discover just how amazing they are.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Educational Studies from Grand Canyon University and my Master's degree in Autism Spectrum Disorder. I'm currently attending Arizona State University, working toward my ABA degree to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), because I believe learning is a lifelong adventure.

When I'm not in the classroom, my favorite place to be is with my family. My husband and I have been together for 19 wonderful years, and we have two amazing daughters, ages 22 and 19, who will always be my greatest accomplishment. Our family recently welcomed our very first grandbaby, who has quickly become the center of our world and fills our days with so much joy.

In my free time, you'll usually find me curled up with a great book, making memories with my family, or enjoying the outdoors. I love finding joy in life's little moments, and I bring that same sense of wonder, creativity, and fun into my classroom every day.

I can't wait to welcome your child into our classroom family. This year will be filled with learning, laughter, exploration, new friendships, and so many unforgettable moments. I look forward to partnering with you to help your little one shine.
